The Internship
Interns will spend their time in four areas:
- Teaching: The course programme is broken down into modules and interns will spend 8-10 hours per week in teaching sessions.
- Application: Each element of the course also contains application sessions where giftings such as dream interpretation, prophecy, prayer for healing and evangelism can be practised in a safe environment. Interns will typically spend 4-5 hours per week in this area.
- Service: Each intern will choose an element of the Presence business to be 'tagged' to, or a business operated by the Hub. Interns may pick up to three different business areas to work in during the year. Interns will work on average 20 hours per week supporting one of the business areas, learning business skills and applying the giftings they have learnt during the teaching sessions in this real-world setting.
- Outreach: Interns will select one outreach partner to work with (again, they may select multiple during the programme). This could be Street Angels, or New Hope Trust, Girl About or a number of other initiatives. Interns will support the goals of these initiatives as part of the broader Christians Across Watford focus.
Interns will be encouraged to choose one of the partner churches as their home church for the duration of the programme. Visits to these churches will be arranged in the first month of the internship.
Dates
The programme commences on Monday, 14th September 2009. The intern house is available from 8:00AM on Saturday, 12th September. The programme completes on Friday, 9th July 2010. Interns will need to have moved out of the intern house by 8:00pm on Sunday, 11th July.
There will be a two week break during each of Christmas 2009 and Easter 2010 and a one week break in February.
Financial Matters
The sponsor pays a monthly salary of £275. With accommodation being provided, this will be sufficient to ensure that interns can financially support themselves during the programme.
Facilities and Accommodation
An intern house is provided to all interns for the duration of the programme. All running costs of the house (heat, light, rates) are covered by the sponsor. Food and personal toiletries will need to be provided by the interns. The intern house is within walking distance of the main teaching location, and all Presence business locations.
